Rubber and metal bonding method and glue type

Rubber and skeleton bonding method:

Hard glue method, adhesive method, copper plating method and direct adhesion method.

1) Hard Adhesive Method This method is a hard rubber layer or a hard glue, which is used as a transition layer between rubber and metal to firmly bond the two. The method is applied for a long time, but because of its many advantages, it is still widely used in the bonding technology of natural rubber, Cyanide nitrile rubber and general metal. It is suitable for rubber products with large skeletons, and is most used in rubber rollers and chemical linings. The advantages are high bonding strength, good corrosion resistance, and simple process. However, the disadvantage is that the vulcanization time is long, the heat resistance and the impact resistance are poor, and it is not suitable for the bonding of small rubber products and special synthetic rubber and metal.

2) Adhesive method Because of the variety of adhesives, it is suitable for the bonding of various rubbers and metals. It has strong adaptability and does not require large processing equipment and tools. However, the disadvantage is that the adhesive is mostly made of a solvent, and therefore, most of them are toxic, flammable, and have poor storage stability. Currently commonly used adhesives are mainly isocyanates (such as Lekner JQ-1), halogen-containing adhesives (such as Chemlock), phenolic resins (such as RM-1), epoxy adhesives and so on.

Types of adhesive used in rubber products:

Adhesive refers to an auxiliary material that bonds rubber with various skeleton materials such as steel, aluminum, plastic, fabric and other materials through thermal vulcanization.

Adhesives can be divided into polyisocyanates, halogen-containing binders, water-based binders and silicone coupling agents. Commonly used are JQ-1 and RM-1 series.

JQ-1 is commonly known as Lecner and its chemical name is polyisocyanate. The adhesive is characterized by high bonding strength, low price, strong volatility, and contains carcinogenic substances, which are sensitive to light, easily dispersed and degraded in the presence of moist gases, and strict storage and storage requirements. Due to its toxicity, it is a phase-out transition product. Although it is still in use, the materials are gradually reduced. It is only used for industrial products. It is strictly prohibited for food, health care, sports and rubber products closely related to the environment. .

RM-1 is a bit non-toxic, anti-rust and stable in performance, but the adhesion strength is slightly worse than JQ-1. His operation process is simple, and it is not affected by season, environment and humidity. Store for a long time. Moreover, there is no corrosion to the rubber mold and no pollution to the environment.
